Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Here at BHSA we provide an environment which is welcoming and stimulating and an atmosphere in which every child feels secure, confident and valued.
Children in Foundation Stage learn by playing and exploring and we encourage creative and critical thinking. Through the prime and specific areas of learning we build on what the child already knows and then extend their fascination and wonder at the world around them. Our pupils learn by playing, exploring and being active and engaging in activities that take place both indoors and outside.
We provide a secure foundation through learning and development opportunities which are planned around the needs and interests of each child and these are assessed and reviewed regularly. Ongoing assessment is an integral part of the learning and development process. Observations and photographs are used to compile a Learning Journey for each child.
There is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents/carers and we operate an open door policy to discuss any concerns or celebrate any achievements. Areas of learning and development shape activities and experiences for our youngest children and we work towards the Early Learning Goals as set out in the EYFS profile.
