Our Junior Department maintains an atmosphere of warmth, encouragement and understanding to enable all pupils to learn in a caring and friendly environment. Girls from the ages of three to eleven are introduced to our broad and balanced approach to education, which will give them the skills both academically and personally to mature into independent, confident, articulate young women.
Using formal teaching and 'learning through play' sessions, teaching staff and teaching assistants focus on a child’s talents, develop key skills and provide support and extra help when needed. A programme of school trips, visiting speakers and special events brings each subject to life. Girls acquire citizenship skills through their fundraising work for charities and community events.
Throughout a child’s early years at the school, parents are actively encouraged to share their daughter’s progress by discussing her achievements with staff in informal meetings and by helping with homework to promote their daughter’s confidence and enthusiasm.
After school care is provided, which parents are charged for, until 6.00pm and children are supervised from 8.00am each morning.
