In KS2 we provide an excellent, enjoyable curriculum. The school provides a broad, balanced programme of studies; alongside the three core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science and the foundation subjects: History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Computing, Religious Education and PSHE, children benefit from being taught French, Music and PE by specialist subject teachers. The curriculum is enhanced further through a variety of stimulating enrichment clubs, including gardening, composition, dance, choir and a range of exhilarating sports clubs such as netball and hockey. Girls are also extremely fortunate to be able to use our Senior School pool for swimming lessons and have regular opportunities to participate in galas.
Children enter KS2 in Year 3. There is a particularly close liaison between form teachers to ensure the transition between key stages is smooth and an independent attitude is fostered by the girls within a safe and caring environment.
Girls continue to develop their independence, resilience, creativity and curiosity for learning throughout Years 4 and 5, with exciting school trips including visits to Roman Chester, Speke Hall, Victorian Croxteth Hall culminating in the thoroughly enjoyable Year 5 residential week to Manor Adventure.
In Year 6, girls strive to do their best and achieve their potential with the right attitude being an important part of this final year of primary school. Children enjoy the extra responsibilities of helping other teachers and children around the school, such as assisting in the Nursery, undertaking infant duties at playtime and House Captains chosen to represent the school in various capacities.
Each KS2 form class has a representative at our school council where children have the opportunity to raise issues or concerns of their peers and take an active part in discussing possible solutions.
