Rita's Round Reading Table is Now Open!
We are delighted to announce the official opening of Rita’s Round Reading Table in our school quad to honour the beautiful memory of Rita, our much-loved reading support dog. From our youngest 3-year-olds taking their first steps in literacy to our 19-year-olds building confidence, Rita’s gentle presence brought calm, joy, and a lifelong love of reading to students, staff, and parents across all of BHSA.
Built from recycled materials, this sustainable memorial space gives our students a welcoming spot to gather, read, and share their favourite books together, ensuring Rita’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our entire school community—students, staff, parents, and carers—whose incredible support and fundraising efforts brought this wonderful project to life. We also send a special thank you to Jodh Dhesi, Executive Director of Schools at GDST, for joining us yesterday to officially cut the ribbon and declare the space open.
Please pop by the quad, bring a book, and take a moment to enjoy this beautiful new space created in Rita's memory.
